Initial and Relevant Obligations of a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG)
Name
A prerequisite for the registration of a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG) is selecting the right name, which meets the criteria of the Registrar of Companies, and obtaining its relevant approval.
Restrictions to the approval of a name
The restrictions to the approval of a company’s name in the Republic of Cyprus apply respectively to the registration of a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG). For more information refer to the relevant page.
Furthermore, the name may not include any of the following words or expressions or abbreviations thereof:
- “limited”;
- “unlimited”;
- “partnership”;
- “company”’;
- “foundation”; or
- “union”.
Change of Name
After the registration of a European Economic Interest Grouping, any amendments to the name are submitted to the Registrar of Companies for approval.
